Classic Acai Smoothie Bowl



This is my go-to recipe for smoothie bowls. If you want to make it an on-the-go smoothie, just add more liquid and pour into a cup. Makes approx. 2 servings.


Ingredients:

  • 1.5 cups coconut milk unsweetened (you can use whatever milk you prefer, but I highly recommend using milk or an alternative milk to get that creamy flavor and texture)

  • 1 block frozen acai (you can find in almost all grocery stores now, but my favorite is from Trader Joe's)

  • 1 cup frozen strawberries

  • 1 frozen banana (I just buy bananas and then peel and freeze them once they are ripe)

  • 1 T. agave syrup (honey works too)

  • 1 scoop vanilla protein powder

  • 1 T. all natural peanut butter--optional

  • Toppings: granola, nuts, seeds, nut butters, shredded coconut, berries, etc.


Instructions:

  • Add all ingredients to a blender or a bowl if using an immersion blender like I do (an immersion blender is a handheld stick blender and is a lot easier to clean)

  • Blend until smooth and creamy texture is achieved

  • Pour into a bowl

  • Add desired toppings

  • Enjoy
